Let’s travel back in time to 1982 in the city of Jihlava. Why am I sharing these with you today? Because I am an old photography fan from way back when and when I came across these I just knew I had to share them here.
These photographs of Jihlava are interesting in that you can see that while it’s a large city, the streets are almost empty. A blend of old and new, the brutal concrete structures of communism seem so out of place here. Look at all of the old run down looking cars, and the few military trucks here and there.
Looking at the photographs of Jihlava almost makes it feel like this is a place that time forgot. Their sad feeling reminds me of another album, When Prague was 50 Shades of Grey.

Have a nice day, I was very interested in the photos from the eighties from Jihlava on your website. I am writing for Jihlavský deník and I would like to use these photos in my section, retro photos are very interesting. Of course, with the indication of the source and a link to your website. It would be possible, thank you in advance for your response. Sincerely, Jana Kodysová, Jihlavský deník.
These photographs really capture the mood if the time as well as the place.
These are very nice photographs of the Jihlava I remember as a little girl.
A good way of ruining a city is to put a giant communist Prior on a main square.
