Apple seems to have a love affair with our beautiful Czech Republic, choosing it as a location for many of their holiday Apple commercials.
In 2016, a 30 second spot entitled Romeo and Juliet it shows two young actors reciting Shakespeare’s dialogue for a school play. When filmed through the lenses of the iPhone 7, however, the school’s auditorium is transformed into some gorgeous baroque European sets.
Surely you’ll recognize the location as the Libochovice Chateau in the Ústí nad Labem region.
The 2016 Apple Christmas Commercial Filmed in Žatec which is located 70 kilometers from Prague.
In Frankie’s Holiday, a Frankenstein-like creature (played by Everybody Loves Raymond star Brad Garrett) finally receives the warm welcome he’s always yearned for to Perry Como’s song, Home for the Holidays.

The 2017 Apple holiday commercial aka ode to the iPhone X was filmed in the Czech capital of Prague.
Called “Sway”, the new spot features the song Palace by R&B artist Sam Smith from his 2017 album The Thrill Of It All on Apple Music.
The dancers (who happen to be married in real life) perform amid a snowy lamp lit setting along the beautiful streets of Prague, listening to the song via wireless Bluetooth-powered AirPods.
The 2018 commercial is called Color Flood, and it is for the iPhone XR.
It’s not my personal favorite because I think it looks like a massive jail break with all of the people wearing those jumpsuits!
But to each his own…
Of course Apple isn’t the only giant filming their commercials in the Czech Republic.
Look at this 2016 Coca Cola commercial filmed in towns of Loket, Nebušice and Louny.
And then there is this commercial from Milka Fine Chocolates and titled ‘The Time Machine”.
Of course, Czech T-Mobile wanted to get in on the game as well and came up with this…
Entitled the Watermelons are Rolling, it’s a Christmas commercial from 2002.
