Prague is a picturesque city, to say the least. Its baroque skyline and misty weather conditions make it ideal for a portrait anytime of day, down any street. Its faces and personalities are equally as enchanting and unique – you only have to take a look in our archive to find that some of the best photographers/photographs have come from this beloved city.
Though it is full of life and beauty, there are times Prague can also appear gloomy and almost haunted… which is no wonder, considering everything that its century old buildings have survived.
The photographs below are a random collection of vintage images taken throughout the history of the city. Some you might recognize, as they were taken by famous photographers that you may have seen before, while others are simply captured moments and scenes forever held in the viewers eye.
One thing they all have in common is the spooky and mysterious feeling of each one. If you look at them individually, you’ll notice a kind of peace and silence that is both comforting and breathtaking.
