Today we are looking at the fairytale foggy forests of the Czech Republic. These images show the magical side that all Czechs know and remember. Going into the forest, whether looking for mushrooms or berries, or just walking through is a pastime enjoyed by most Czech people. Being in nature is very important to Czechs, and in looking at these images, you can easily see why…

The very talented photographer responsible for these photos is named Aleister (Aleš) “Desp”.
He comes from North Bohemia and has been photographing since 2007. His interest in photography originated as a complement to computer 2D graphics and webdesigning (many years ago). Over time, photography from pre-flood-mobile technology and digital non-cameras began to become more than just recreational activity.
A major step was the acquisition of the Fujifilm S3200 ultrasound camera (2010), and after the first year he bought his first SLR, the old and the good Nikon D70. He also began to look for analogue photography and collect “older technology”, mostly with old glass, using it to take pictures. His interest was mainly focused on landscape and nature photography, preferring those two main spheres even today, and later adding urbex.
In 2013, he bought the Nikon D300, which made him a great series of landscapes and urbex. Later, he tried other brands of cameras: Pentax, Sony, Canon. He experimented with many models and took pictures of them. Nowadays he’s using Canon technology.
As you can see from the examples above, he has a very extensive experience in post-processing, whether product photography or artistic, due to his knowledge and about 10 years of experience in graphics. He’s also very good at photographing the night sky. Perfectly familiar with underground photography, using “natural light” (without flash) and lighting technology. These days, he’s mostly dedicated to landscape, nature and the urbex, as mentioned above.
He holds photography workshops and also does web work and graphics, so if you love his work as much as we do, make sure to contact him.
Besides photography, graphics and urbex, this talented young man’s hobbies also include downhill, mountaineering, shooting, various martial arts, traveling, extreme sports and experiences of all kinds, history, World War II, occultism, montanism, geology, astrophysics and fine arts.
