I could not help but share these lovely folk patterns on heritage embroidered handbags today. While she does list them as Polish, those of us who are Czech recognize many of the patterns she uses. Her work is stunning and makes up a boutique of the best gifts for yourself or your Czech or Slavic friends.
At the basis of the artistic work of the “Farbotka” brand lies the assumption of crossing borders and breaking barriers. The idea that underlies new projects is to refer back to the roots of Slavic countries, show the richness of their culture but also the common things among the East European nations. This is how the idea arose to combine Lowicz embroidery with the Czech colorful woven sashes, the Russian and Polish patterns.
