My favorite part about the city of Prague (besides the food of course) was the lovely architecture, the cobblestone streets, and the colorful buildings. There is just such a wonderful feeling wandering through the streets looking up and around at all of the history in the streets. And even though from a far all of the streets and colors look like they were built to be synchronized and in a similar pattern, I love that behind every turn it seems like a different style.
Some streets can make you feel like you are in a whole different place, and that’s why we wanted to bring this experience to you. In Prague almost every entrance into apartments and business buildings alike have carved statues of heroic people and sometimes animals on either side of the main doors. The statues sometimes feel as though they are floating like a guardian angel, while others are positioned to look like they are carrying the entire structure on their backs.
Every ‘first floor’ in Prague’s apartments are actually more like the second floor duo to the fact that you have to climb a flight of stairs to get into the main part of the building, this gives even the first floors an amazing view of the streets while maintaining privacy as the windows are to high for people to reach in. When we were visiting Prague, we had a first floor apartment and one of our favorite pass times when it was to to cold to go outside was watch the passing tourist and simply study the streets many different carvings and sidewalk designs.
