If you were in the former Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (CSSR) in the late 70s and most of the 80s then you’re most likely familiar with the advertising of the time period.
When I think about what our (American) ads looked like in the same time period, you can definitely feel the repression, even in the ads meant to be happy and carefree. Even the colors look repressed, don’t they?
For many of you, these products will bring back a lot of memories.
Of course, we have to begin with the bread because whether it’s The Czech Kingdom (usually translated Kingdom of Bohemia), the New (or First) Republic of Czechoslovakia, C.S.S.R. or Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, Czech Republic or Checia, there’s nothing else like Czech bread in the world!
Do any of these bring back memories?
