Swans were definitely something I was not expecting to see when we were set to visit Prague yet these elegant creatures were on and around all the all parks around the Vltava River.
Tourists, photographers, and families all come down to the park to feed and watch the swans as they bathe, us included. Almost every morning we would walk down to the park beneath Most Legií to feed and watch the swans… it kind of became a ritual.
Occasionally fighting with seagulls for the crumbs of bread being thrown, they simply float around, dipping their heads into the cold water and posing for the photos being taken.
Go to any park along the Vltava river and you can find at least five of them swimming around or laying out on the grass. Just be careful if you decide to feed them, they might snatch your fingers.
They just love two day old Czech rye bread (Check out our easy recipe here!) and they also love when people come to see them!
